How are you dealing with quarantine? How are you spending your time differently?
The whole month of March was crazy. I was living in Madrid, enjoying every second of it and then, one second I was being sent back to the US. Although I didn’t even have time to react to what was happening I am now in a much better state of mind. I am now more relaxed and taking advantage of this world’s much needed pause. I am spending my time much differently now, as I was expected to me traveling through Spain and Europe during these months. I am now home taking my online classes and watching TikToks. Before, I would hang out with friends, casually get on the metro and go wherever, but now we have planned Zoom calls and endless WhatsApp conversations!
What’s the first thing you’ll do once this is over?
Have a phone and computer detox! I definitely feel like during this quarantine, most of my time has been spent on an electronic device and that’s something that I need a break from immediately after we are allowed to go outside freely. I also can’t wait to see everyone that I have to be distanced from like family, friends, neighbors, etc. Honestly, anything that I do when this is over will definitely be remembered and special, no matter how “unimportant” it is.
What do you think are good things that quarantine will bring?
Something that I think this quarantine will bring to society is having people be more grateful, even about the smallest things. We have been taken away from experiences, and things that we used to do everyday like going to the mall or hanging out with friends. We’ve had to put a hold on all these things for such a long time, that now when this is all over, we will be grateful for even having the freedom to take a walk around the block without having to worry about the unmentionable cv. Families will be much closer and people will be more appreciative towards like and this is something that I can’t wait to see in people all around the world!
